SARAH SENECA Residential Services is a not-for-profit agency serving individuals with intellectual disabilities.
We are seeking a Finance Assistant who will be responsible for completion of all tasks associated with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. Additional accounting tasks as assigned by the Finance Director and Executive Director.
Directly reports to the Finance Director and Executive Director.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9a-5p= 40hrs a week
Duties will include:
-Input of all A/P invoices weekly.
-Post, edit, and process checks/ Electronic Bill payments weekly.
-Post, edit, and review for month end.
-Completion of Bi-weekly Payroll including review/ follow-up of employee time worked records, input to payroll service, review reports, calculate and process wage garnishments, process all employee-related payroll changes.
-Analyze daily cash reciepts
-Prepare and perform bank deposits using remote deposit online.
-Work with Finance Director to complete monthly general ledger account analysis
-Generate management and DDS reports
-Prepare monthly journal entries
-Analyze and allocate expenses as required
-Abide by all state, agency, and accounting policies, practices, and guidelines
-Perform bank transfers of funds between accounts
-Process and fund bi-weekly 401K contributions
-Calculate/ Submit multi worksite data to Bureau of Labor Statistics quarterly
-Assist in preparing for all agency yearly external and 401k audit
-Process Yearly 1099's
-Compile wage data for yearly workers compensation audit.
-Operate computer and associated software.
-Effective oral and written communications
-Perform other related duties as may be required by supervisors.
This position will help provide organization to Finance Office, Confidentiality and Discretion is a must, and attention to detail is crucial.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- 1-3 years of related accounting experience.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Payroll Processing software, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
- Must have a valid CT Drivers License and reliable transportation for work related travel
- Self-motivation; capable of effectively working independently.
