SARAH SENECA Residential Services is an agency that supports individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities in residential settings.
The lead direct support professional main focus is acting as the medical liaison for the group home.
Hours:
Sun, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri: 3pm - 11pm
Job Duties Include:
Scheduling doctor appointments, medical follow-up, ordering medications and medical supplies, and working closely with the nurse. The lead staff will assist the Program Manager with the house schedule and recreation calendar.
-The Lead Staff will help to support individuals served in maintaining a lifestyle which promotes individuality, responsibility, and dignity.
-The Lead Staff position will carry greater responsibility than that of other Support Staff.
-The Lead Staff person will act on behalf of the program site Manager in his/her absence, assume and carry out all delegated responsibilities as assigned.
-The Lead Staff will assist in training new staff and ensuring staff compliance.
-The Lead Staff will act as the medical liaison for the group home by scheduling appointments, speaking with doctor offices, and following up with pharmacy on needs of individuals.
-The Lead Staff will have some supervisory responsibilities to ensure staff compliance.
-Complete checks and balances for the group home to ensure data collection and shift responsibilities are being completed.
-Plan and come up with recreation activities.
-Ensure groceries and supplies are purchased as needed for the group home.
-Train new employees on the house routine and how to work with individuals in home.
-Act as a backup to the manager in ensuring the house runs smoothly.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current Driver's license with clean driving record
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Demonstrate at least two years of previous experience with developmental disabilities and group home experience.
- DDS Medication Certification must be valid and current at time of application.
- Working knowledge of ADL skills. (i.e. banking, food preparation, housekeeping, personal care, money management, etc.)
- Supervisory experience is a plus
- Experience with oversite of group home finances
- Experience with scheduling and finding coverage a plus
